Smoking Cessation

Smoking harms nearly every organ of the body, causing many diseases and affecting the health of smokers in general. Quitting smoking has immediate as well as long-term benefits for you and your loved ones. Smoking cessation is the practice of quitting smoking.

The Study:

AMR Norfolk is now seeking eligible participants for the fight to quit smoking. This study is a randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled trial that will assess the efficacy of the medication called cytisincline. The study will last approximately 24 weeks with 19 in office visits and 1 phone call. Dosing will be an oral medication, taken 3 times per day.

 

Qualified Participants:

  • Age 18 years or older
  • Smoking at least 10 cigarettes/day
  • Failed to quit smoking at least once
  • Motivated to quit
  • Willing to quit 5-7 days after starting the study
  • Willing to adhere to the time and compliance requirements

 

If Qualified and you participate you will receive:

  • All study-related medical exams, lab tests, investigational medication or placebo at no cost.
  • Compensation for time and travel.
  • Insurance is not required.
