Back pain is one of the most common reasons people go to the doctor or miss work, and it is a leading cause of disability worldwide. Fortunately, you can take measures to prevent or relieve most back pain episodes. Surgery is rarely needed to treat back pain.
AMR Norfolk is now seeking eligible participants for our active back pain study. The study will consist of a non-opioid drug called tolperisone hydrochloride (HCL). HCL is used widely among parts of Europe, Asia, and South Africa for the treatment of post stroke spasticity and in some countries acute painful muscle spasms. The current Phase 3 study with tolperisone is designed to test relief of back pain due to muscle spasm of acute onset and safety of tolperisone.
To qualify, you must be:
- Age 18 years or older
- Individuals with current acute back pain due to acute muscle spasm starting within 7 days prior to study entry.
- Willing to adhere to the time and compliance requirements. Participation in this study is voluntary, and you can leave the study at any time.
Qualified participants will receive at no cost:
- All study related medical exams.
- Lab tests
- Investigational medicine or placebo
